I recently received prints of a design in lovely gold foil bearing Pope St. John Paul II’s quote, “Life with Christ is a wonderful adventure.” I smiled (in a wry way) when I opened the box, because, honestly, life in this world has felt like a bit more of a rollercoaster lately. One of those rides at the state fair where you’re not sure how safe it is, to be exact.
I’ve put together a few resources for those who are looking for ways to pass the time as we distance ourselves socially for the good of those most vulnerable. I’ve also linked to some wonderful resources from other Catholic artisans.
The Wanderlust Catholic is a monthly snail-mail letter. I’m happy to offer a previous letter in an entirely digital format completely free – I hope your family enjoys it! Find the letter about Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati, along with activities and resources, here.
We all know the elderly are very vulnerable right now. Social distancing is a good, good thing that we can do to help, but I also think about how lonely this might make the elderly feel. So, if your kids have some extra time on their hands, would you consider writing letters and sending them/dropping them at your local nursing home, at your neighbors’ houses, etc? I’ve created some templates for your kids to make this easy-peasy.
Additional resources – For those who cannot attend Mass and more!
