The homily I heard Sunday brought up several point

The homily I heard Sunday brought up several points about the miracle of the loaves and fishes that I’ve never considered.
One was that in St. John’s Gospel, a little boy is the one to offer his fish and bread - in that way little ones have of trusting that their tiny offering is truly helpful.

Another point was about the leftovers that were gathered up after eating. First of all, the miracle didn’t provide ‘just enough’ for the thousands of people, but actually an abundance. But also, the deacon challenged us to gather up the leftovers in our lives so that they can bless others. I’ve been thinking about this idea all week, making plans for some leftovers that can bring joy and help to others.
