Photos of our finished products are coming soon, so that you can see color choices!
For the World’s Thy Ship and Eucharistic Highway designs, you’ll use backstitch. I used 4 threads of the floss (just cut a length and then pull gently to separate them), but you can experiment with what looks best to you.
For the Our Lady of Guadalupe, you just need French Knots! These can be tricky to imagine, but are quite simple with a bit of practice. If colonial knots are easier for you, those work just fine too! I went from one knot right to the next, with the same floss, as long as it doesn’t show where the wood is cut away.
I used all the threads of the floss for these, wrapping twice on my knot.
The yarn wrapping is especially easy with the included plastic needle! Start at one end and take care to wrap only one layer. You shouldn’t see any gaps or any thick spots. This is a quick project, so don’t be afraid to start a color over if it needs help!
(If you are unsure how to do the yarn wrapping, this video may help! Not that we are wrapping wood, not rope like the video, and also that I do not use the spot of hot glue that she does.)
